Waterfall Ruins Fortnite POI

I decided to create a POI themed around ancient ruins; the current ruin theme in Fortnite is one of my favorite areas, so I wanted to show my take on an ancient ruin themed POI using UEFN.

I wanted to dive more into UEFN to see what I could create using their editor and discover the infinite capabilities UEFN has to offer.

The overall intent of this POI was to showcase nature slowly taking over an ancient town that has a central waterfall structure running down the middle, splitting the two sides apart from each other. In the lower areas, nature has been taking over quite a bit of the space. Meanwhile, the upper area is still super intact, and nature is beginning to make its way up to destroy more of the town.

With this waterfall separating the two sides, I wanted to make sure every building was still seamlessly connected so that rotating around the POI was fun no matter the route the player decides to take.
I achieved this by:
1. Using zip lines and bounce mushrooms to connect upper and lower areas.
2. Adding in an underground area that connects the middle and upper areas of the POI. This way you aren’t only limited to rotating around the POI by the main “foot paths” on the outside.
3. Making sure each building is far enough away from each other so many teams can drop into the POI, grab loot and push towards enemy players and take over the POI.
4. Having the water run straight down the middle, players can orient themselves no matter what area of the POI they are in at all times.
